Our Steady Satellites!

For all the ones we love
Love isn’t always flawless,
It stumbles, stammers, stays uncertain
Yet still, it shows up.
Not just when we shine,
But when we fall apart.
Sometimes it’s a need,
Sometimes just a want.
But when it's real, truly real
It’s impossibly imperfect,
And that’s what makes it enough.
Put your empty hands in mine,
We’ll fill them with the weight of care.
Show me the scars you’ve hidden,
I’ll show you I’m still here.
If your wings are broken,
Take mine.
Let them lift you,
Let them open skies you thought you’d lost.
Because I’ll stand by you
Through tears that turn your eyes into
kaleidoscopes of hurt and hope,
Through days that feel too long,
Nights that echo too loud.
We’re all cracked,
But light still gets in.
We’re all flawed,
But love makes room within.
I’ll be your eyes when yours can’t see,
Your arms when yours fall tired.
Your steady satellite,
Orbiting close when the world pulls away.
Because love isn’t perfect.
It never was.
But it binds us,
Stronger than fear,
Softer than sorrow.
It is in showing up, breaking down,
and rising, again and again.
It is in being impossibly imperfect
together.
